1.27. Ventilation, heater and conditioner of air of salon
Airfinal channels Air supply via the channels intended for this purpose is regulated depending on the chosen control mode - automatically or manually.
On an illustration the places of air supply placed on the dashboard are shown.
On any of channels the heated, not heated or cooled fresh air can arrive.
Control of distribution of air is exercised of the multiposition switch About (heater) or conditioner keys.
Stitched deflectors 3 and 4 can be closed or open separately the corrugated handles located on each side.
The direction of air supply via stitched deflectors can be regulated both in vertical, and in horizontal the planes.
The conditioner automatically supports a uniform microclimate in all space of salon.
For this purpose automatically temperature of the air arriving on stitched channels, and also its mass expense (quantity) and distribution of air streams changes. In need of this automatic process it is possible to introduce manual amendments.
Indication of the programmed temperature and turns of the fan is brought to the display of the control panel of the conditioner installed on the average console. On the left side of the display there is a key of regulation of temperature, and from right - a key of regulation of turns of the fan. Regulation of temperature and turns of the fan is carried out by pressing of the "+" or "-" keys.

D mode of air circulation
In the circulation mode access of air is from the outside blocked, and its volume is distributed in salon around. Thereby hit in salon of the air polluted by exhaust gases is prevented. The movement in this mode should not be too long-term.

Prevention of fogging wind and side glasses
If at the increased humidity of air, for example, during a rain, glasses mist over, then the following option of control of system is recommended:
Install the switch B in situation II or III.
If necessary slightly tighten the regulator A with calling high-temperature range.

When glasses are purified and in salon the necessary temperature will be established, it is recommended to customize system as follows:

Adjust the regulator A on the necessary productivity of a heater.

In the control option described below via stitched deflectors 3 and 4 not heated fresh air arrives:
Install the switch B in the necessary situation (III corresponds to the maximum intake of air).
Turn the regulator A to the left against the stop.

Open stitched deflectors 3 and 4.
If necessary install the air distributor C in other situation.
General provisions
For normal work of system of heating and ventilation the air inlet located before a windshield should not be hammered with snow, ice and foliage.
In order to avoid fogging of glasses at a small speed the fan has to be switched constantly on on low power.
For the termination of hit of the polluted external air in salon press a key D. In order to avoid fogging of glasses the movement in this mode should not be long-term.
The antidust filter catches the weighed microparticles of external air (for example, dust, pollen, etc.). Install the switch in situation 0 only in case of pollution outwardly of air by gases.
Element of the antidust filter replace according to the plan THAT for the purpose of prevention of falling of power of a heater.
Governing bodies of the air conditioner
All modes of the conditioner will join and will be switched off by pressing of keys. At the included mode in the corresponding key the diode burns.
Standard control
After inclusion of ignition:
Establish temperature of 22 °C (71 °F) and press the AUTO key.
Such control provides the most bystry creation in salon of a comfortable microclimate.
Therefore to recede from it there is a sense only if it is dictated by own health.
AUTO automatic equipment (normal mode)
Temperature, quantity and distribution of air are regulated automatically, by criterion of the fastest achievement and the subsequent maintenance of the necessary temperature in salon. At the same time automatic response to fluctuations of temperature of external air, and also to influence of the sun is provided.
TEMP regulation of temperature
Temperature in salon can be set ranging from 18 °C (64 °F) to 29 °C (84 °F). At installation of the regulator in one of extreme provisions of "LO" and "HI", regulation of temperature does not occur. The system constantly works in the mode maximum hlado-or heating capacities.
Indication of temperature can switch from Celsius scale to the Fahrenheit scale and back in the following order:

Temperature is regulated automatically. The maximum air supply is carried out mainly on channels 1 and 2.
Pressing of this key switches off the mode of circulation and economy mode.

In the circulation mode access of air is from the outside covered, and its volume is distributed in salon around. Thereby hit in interior of the car of the air polluted by exhaust gases is prevented. The movement in this mode should not be too long-term.

ECON economy mode
For economy of fuel it is possible to switch off the compressor. However at the switched-off compressor possibilities of support of a comfortable microclimate in salon are limited. If in salon becomes too hot or glasses will mist over, then it is possible to turn on the compressor pressing of the ECON or AUTO key again.
OFF switching off of the conditioner
By pressing this key the conditioner is switched off. Access of external air is blocked.
For turning on of the conditioner press the AUTO key or one of keys of fan/regulation of temperature, the air distributor, or OFF klavsha.

Recognition of a key
The main manual settings of the conditioner are programmed for convenience of use automatically.
At change of settings of the conditioner by other user of your car, after inclusion of ignition automatically there is their installation in a starting position according to the parameters programmed on your key.
Necessary condition for this purpose is use by the previous user not of yours, and other key of the car. Otherwise there will be a programming of the parameters set by this user on your key.
Therefore when using of the car of several drivers everyone has to use the key for automatic installation of the set conditioner parameters.
General provisions
The fan turns on in cold weather only after warming up of cooling liquid up to the necessary temperature. The exception makes the mode.
In order to avoid falling warm and refrigerating capacities, and also foggings of glasses important that the air inlet before a windshield was not hammered with snow, ice or foliage.
On cars with automatic transmission, at sharp start-off with completely squeezed out accelerator pedal, or at anticipatory switching to a low gear (Kick-Down) the compressor of the conditioner is switched-off for some time for realization of full capacity of the engine.
The compressor is switched-off at too high temperature of cooling liquid for ensuring normal cooling of the engine in the conditions of extreme loading.
In cold weather the compressor is automatically switched off. In this case it will not manage to be included also the AUTO key intended for this purpose.
At the switched-on compressor temperature and humidity of air in salon go down. Thanks to it fogging of glasses is prevented.
The conditioner works most effectively at the closed lifting and movable panel of a roof * and the lifted glasses.
If, however, air in salon heated up as a result of the long parking of the car in the sun, then lowering of glasses for a short time before turning on of the conditioner can accelerate cooling process.
At the high external temperature and humidity from the evaporator the condensed water, forming a pool under the car can drip. This normal phenomenon which is not a depressurization sign.
The antidust filter catches the weighed microparticles of external air (for example, dust, pollen, etc.). Include the circulation mode at impurity of air exhaust gases.
Element of the antidust filter replace according to the plan THAT for prevention of loss of power of the conditioner.
At premature pollution of the filter as a result of operation of the car in zones with strong air pollution more frequent can be required, than THAT is provided by the plan, replacement of the filtering element.
Arriving via stitched channels and distributed then on all salon air is removed through exhaust cracks under back glass. Therefore do not close them articles of clothing, etc. things.
At the slightest suspicion on damage of the conditioner switch off it at once and check for HUNDRED Audis.
