4-staged automatic transmission *



The car is completed with 4-staged automatic transmission with electronic control.

Switching to the raised and low gears is carried out according to the programs of the movement which are stored in memory.

Dynamic program of switchings (DSP)

Early transition on raised and late – on low gears provides optimum fuel consumption.
The monitor carries out the automatic choice of the program.

At a reserved manner of driving automatic equipment chooses the economic program of switching.

At a temperamental manner of driving with sharp dispersals and frequent differences of speed, or after sharp pressing an accelerator pedal automatic equipment works with use of the maximum speed in the range of sports programs. Late transition to overgears allows to realize an engine capacity stock completely. Switching to low gears is carried out at higher turns of the engine in comparison with the economic program.

The choice of the optimum program of the movement on specific conditions represents continuous process. However irrespective of it it is possible to switch to more sports program, having sharply pressed an accelerator pedal. At the same time the transmission switches to the low gear corresponding to the actual speed of the movement, providing a possibility of dynamic dispersal (for example, when overtaking) without the need for sharp pressing against the stop to an accelerator pedal. After the return switching to an overgear and at the corresponding mode of driving work on the initial program is restored.

The program of the movement in mountains operates the choice of transfers on rises and descents. Thanks to it it is not required to switch at the movement to rise. Pressing of a pedal of a brake at the movement under a bias carries out switching to a low gear. Thereof it is possible to brake the engine without resorting to manual switching.

Blocking of the lever of the selector

Automatic blocking of the lever of the selector


At the included ignition the lever of the selector is blocked in situation "P" and "N".

For moving it squeeze out a brake pedal of these provisions. It prevents involuntary inclusion of transfer of the course and the spontaneous movement of the car from the place.

As a reminder to the driver when finding the lever of the selector indication of "BEIM EINLEGEN EINER FAHRSTUFE IM STAND FUSSBREMSE BETDTIGEN" (at the choice of the mode of the movement of the motionless car squeeze out a brake pedal) is published in provisions "P" and "N" on the display of the control panel. Besides, on the coulisse of gear shifting the symbol represented above lights up.

At speeds approximately from 5 km/h and there is an automatic cancellation of blocking of the lever of the selector which is in situation "N" above.

Blocking button



The button of blocking of the lever of the selector interferes with involuntary inclusion of transfers. When pressing this button the lever of the selector is deblocked.

On an illustration provisions at which it is necessary to press the blocking button are highlighted with red color.

Blocking of a key in the ignition lock

After switching off of ignition the key can be taken from the lock only when finding the lever of the selector in situation "P" (parking blocking).

After extraction of a key from the lock the lever of the selector is blocked in situation "P".

Position of the lever of the selector


At the included ignition on the control panel indication of actual position of the lever of the selector appears. On this illustration situation "D" is shown.

Р parking blocking

Driving wheels are blocked. Parking blocking can use only after a car stop.

R transfer of a backing

Transfer of a backing can be included only after a stop of the car and during the operation of the engine in the idling mode.

At the included ignition and finding of the lever of the selector in situation "R" backing lamps burn.

N neutral situation (provision of idling)

Install the selector lever in this situation only at long breaks of the movement.

The D basic position at advance

Switching to the raised and low gears of the forward course is carried out automatically, depending on loading of the engine, speed and the program.

In the mode of the movement it is under certain conditions more preferable to transfer the selector lever to one of the below-described provisions temporarily.

3 situation for movement along hilly roads

This situation is recommended at frequent switching from the 3rd transfer to the 4th and back when the lever of the selector is in the main D position.
The 4th transfer is blocked. Thanks to it the brake effect of the engine increases at the released accelerator pedal a little.

2 situation for the movement in mountains

This situation is suitable for overcoming long descents and rises.
The 3rd and the 4th transfers are blocked. It will allow to avoid useless switching to overgears and to increase brake effect of the engine.

1 situation for overcoming abrupt biases

This situation is recommended for overcoming rises and descents with exclusively big bias of a longitudinal profile – especially at the movement with the trailer.
The car moves only on the 1st transfer. It reaches the maximum brake effect of the engine.
ATTENTION

At manual switching to low gears it is possible to install the selector lever in provisions "3", "2" and "1". However automatic equipment will switch only after there is impossible a peddling increase in turns of the engine.


Kick-down device

The Kick-down device allows to realize the maximum acceleration. By sharp pressing of a pedal of an accelerator with transition of a point of resistance automatic equipment switches to a low gear depending on turns and speed. Switching to the following overgear happens only on reaching the maximum speed of the engine.

Start of the engine


The engine can be started only when finding the lever of the selector in situation "N" or "P". Address also subsection Lock of Ignition and Start of the Engine.

Choice of the mode of the movement

Before the choice of the mode of the movement of the motionless car with the working engine always press a brake pedal.
At the switching which is carried out before start-off from the place do not press an accelerator pedal.

At inadvertent switching of the lever in situation "N" during the movement before returning to the necessary mode of the movement, dump gas and wait for falling of turns to idling.


ATTENTION

Irrespective of the chosen mode of the movement, at the working engine hold the car a foot brake as even in the mode of idling completely kinematic communication of the engine with wheels does not disappear – the car "creeps".
At the motionless car with the included mode of the movement do not add gas at all (for example, a hand in podkapotny space). Otherwise the car will begin to move at once, it is possible even at the tightened emergency brake.



Before works with the working engine transfer the selector lever to situation "P" and tighten the emergency brake.

Start-off from the place


Include the necessary mode of the movement. Wait until automatic equipment executes inclusion, having created power short circuit of the transmission with driving wheels (at the time of inclusion the little push is notable). Only after that add gas.

Stop

At short-term stops, for example, at traffic lights, it is not necessary to switch in neutral situation "N". It is enough to hold the car a brake. However the engine at the same time has to work only in the idling mode.

Parking

At a stop out of the blue it is enough to include parking blocking. If the road has a bias, at first tighten the emergency brake, and then include parking blocking. Thanks to it load of the mechanism of blocking decreases and its subsequent switching off is facilitated.

Emergency program

At malfunction of system automatic equipment switches to the emergency program. About it fire / extinction of all segments on an indicator board signals at once.

Depending on a road situation it is possible to interrupt communication of the transmission with driving wheels. At the subsequent start of the engine and the movement (the selector lever in situation "P" or "N") communication between the transmission and driving wheels is restored by installation of the lever of the selector in the necessary situation. However in situation "D" the 3rd transfer will join anyway. In need of the bigger force of draft (for example, in mountains, the movement with the trailer) it is possible to begin the movement when finding the lever of the selector in situation "1".

Perhaps also inclusion of transfer of a backing.

Tiptronic *


The car is completed with 5-staged automatic transmission with electronic control.

For the purpose of decrease in fuel consumption and environmental protection, on some modifications transmission is arranged so that the maximum speed of the car is reached only on the 4th transfer.

Switching to the raised and low gears is carried out according to the programs of the movement which are stored in memory. There is also a possibility of manual gear shifting (the manual program of switching).

Dynamic program of switchings (DSP)

The monitor carries out automatic switching of programs.

At the same time the transmission switches to the low gear corresponding to the actual speed of the movement, providing a possibility of dynamic dispersal (for example, when overtaking) without the need for sharp pressing against the stop to an accelerator pedal. After the return switching to an overgear and at the corresponding mode of driving work on the initial program is restored.

The program of the movement in mountains operates the choice of transfers on rises and descents. Thanks to it it is not required to switch at the movement to rise. Pressing of a pedal of a brake at the movement under a bias carries out switching to a low gear. Thereof it is possible to brake the engine without resorting to manual switching.

Manual program of switching


For switching to the manual mode wring out the selector lever from situation "D" to the right. It is possible to switch to the manual mode both during the movement, and during the parking. At the included manual mode, on the display indication of the included 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 broadcast appears.


When translating the lever of the selector forward (+) there is a switching to overgears. When translating back (–) – on low gears.

At dispersal on 1, 2, 3 and 4 transfers the box will automatically switch to the following overgear shortly before achievement of the maximum turns of the engine.

When switching from an overgear automatic equipment will only switch to lowered after there is impossible a peddling increase in turns of the engine.

During the operation of the Kick-down device transmission switches to a low gear depending on the speed of the car and turns of the engine.

Sports steering wheel of "Tiptronic" *


The keys located on a steering wheel give the chance of manual gear shifting.

Certainly, at the same time also gear shifting by the selector lever on the average console is possible.

At the included manual program of switchings of a key on a steering wheel are lit.


At a nazhimaniye on the top party (+) switching to overgears happens one of two keys.

At a nazhimaniye on the lower party(parties) – on low gears.

At dispersal on 1, 2, 3 and 4 transfers the box will automatically switch to the following overgear shortly before achievement of the maximum turns of the engine.

When switching from an overgear automatic equipment will only switch to lowered after there is impossible a peddling increase in turns of the engine.

Kikc-down device

The Kikc-down device allows to realize the maximum acceleration. By sharp pressing of a pedal of an accelerator with transition of a point of resistance automatic equipment switches to a low gear depending on turns and speed. Switching to the following overgear happens only on reaching the maximum speed of the engine.
