Ignition lock

Petrol engines

1 – ignition is switched off / the engine does not work, the steering wheel can be locked
2 – ignition is included *
3 – start of the engine

At a detachment and the subsequent connection of the accumulator wait about 5 seconds and only then you start the engine.

Diesel engines
1.
giving is stopped the fuel / engine does not work, the steering wheel can be locked

provision of inclusion of preheat and subsequent movement
At the moment of preheat do not include powerful consumers of current not to overload the accumulator.

Recommendations for all cars:

Situation 1:


For locking of a wheel take out a key from the lock and turn a wheel before its heard fixing.
On cars with the automatic transmission the key can be turned in situation 1 and to take only when finding the lever of the selector in situation "P".
ATTENTION

On cars with RKPP take a key from the lock only after a full stop! Otherwise perhaps inadvertent zashchelkivaniye of a wheel on the lock.



Situation 2:

If the key turns hardly or at all does not turn in this situation, it is necessary to turn a little a steering wheel for release of the lock of a wheel.

Situation 3:

Before each subsequent start of the engine return the ignition key in situation 1. Blocking of restart in the lock of ignition prevents damage of a starter, excepting gearing of its gear wheel with a gear wreath of a flywheel at already working engine.

General provisions


ATTENTION

At the engine working in the enclosed space there is a danger of poisoning!



Before start of the engine install the switching lever in neutral situation (the lever of the selector of an automatic box in situation "P" or "N") and tighten the emergency brake.

On the car with RKPP at launch of the engine squeeze out a coupling pedal that the starter turned only the engine.
As soon as the engine was started, release a key – the starter should not rotate together with the crankshaft.

After cold start the engine some time works with the strengthened noise, the necessary pressure of oil in system of hydrocompensation of a gap of valves will not be established yet. This normal phenomenon which should not cause alarm.
Do not warm up the engine idling! At once begin the movement!

Avoid the raised turns and the movement with completely squeezed out accelerator pedal before achievement of working temperature of the engine.

The car with the catalytic converter cannot be started the towage exceeding 50 м*. Not burned down fuel can get to the converter and lead to its damage.

* It does not belong to cars with the diesel engine.

Petrol engines

At start of the cold or warmed-up up to the working temperature engine do not press a pedal of an accelerator neither before inclusion of a starter, nor during its work.

If the engine was not started at once, then about 10 seconds later stop attempt of start and repeat it approximately in half-minute.
After start of very hot engine easy pressing an accelerator pedal can be required.

Diesel engines

Preheat

The engine is equipped with system of preheat. Necessary time of preheat is determined by burning of the control lamp of preheat connected to the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid – address subsection Control and measuring devices. Precautionary and diagnostic systems.

Turn a key in the ignition lock in situation 2. At the cold engine the control lamp of system of preheat lights up that demonstrates inclusion of preheat of the engine. It dies away after achievement of temperature of ignition.

In the period of preheat do not include powerful consumers of current in vain not to overload the accumulator.
At start of the engine which is warmed up up to the working temperature, and also at a temperature of air above +8 °C the control lamp of system of preheat lights up approximately for one second – the engine can be started at once.
You start the engine at once as soon as the control lamp goes out.

At start do not press an accelerator pedal.

At emergence of separate flashes continue to hold a starter included some more seconds (at most half-minute) until the engine starts working independently.

If the engine is not started, sustain a pause approximately in half-minute, once again execute preheat and repeat start as it is described above.
