2.26. Check of level of liquid of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Periodically check liquid level in system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel in order to avoid emergence of problems with management of the car, such as damage of the steering pump. Act as follows.

ATTENTION

Do not hold a steering wheel turned against the stop in this or that party more than five seconds. It can put the steering pump out of action.

2. The tank of system of hydrostrengthening of a wheel is located in a motive compartment and has the unscrewing cover with the measuring probe which is built in in it.
3. Park the car on the flat platform and cock the parking brake.

Level of oil can be checked in a cold or heated-up state (since +50 °C). Here check in a cold state is described. Pay attention to the remarks provided in the end of the Section if the level of oil has to be checked in a heated-up state.
4. The car should not be heated-up, the engine should not work. Forward wheels have to stand directly.
5. Turn off by means of the screw-driver a tank stopper (the shooter on an accompanying illustration). For this purpose insert a screw-driver core into a stopper groove.
6. Wipe with a pure rag the index of level under a cover.
7. Manually screw and again turn off a stopper. Oil level on the index has to be in range of 2 mm above or MIN markings are lower.

ATTENTION

As a rule, the level of oil should not go down. If the level of oil decreases, it is necessary to eliminate leakage on HUNDRED AUDIS. If the level of oil lies above the specified range, oil needs to be pumped out.

8. Oil is added surely only new as even insignificant pollution can lead to failures of a hydraulic system.
9. Wrap a stopper by means of the screw-driver.

The remark on check on the engine which is warmed up up to the working temperature:

Warm up the car, having executed a trial trip. Oil has to get warm up to the temperature about +50 °C. Check oil level on the working engine. At the same time forward wheels have to stand directly. Oil level at the screwed cover has to be between the marks MIN and MAX on the other side of the index.
