6.2.5. Check of the installed generator
At the normal movement the lamp of control of a charge has to go out. Otherwise, malfunction consists in the generator or the regulator of tension. First, check electric connections of the generator. Check whether the driving belt is correctly tense. A further inspection can be carried out only on the removed generator, however previously it is necessary to check all safety locks.

PERFORMANCE ORDER

| 1. Turn on the voltmeter between positive and negative poles of the rechargeable battery. |
| 2. Start the engine. At start tension can decrease to 8 V (at an external temperature of +20 °C). |
| 3. Lift engine speed to 3000 rpm. At the same time tension has to make from 13.5 to 14.5 V. Eto points that the generator and the regulator are efficient. The generator tension (onboard tension) has to be higher than tension of the rechargeable battery that the battery in the course of the movement was charged. |
| 4. Check stability of operation of the regulator of tension. For this purpose turn on driving beam and repeat measurements at 3 000 rpm. The measured tension should not be more than 0.4 In earlier measured value. |
| 5. If tension does not correspond to the required sizes, worn-out brushes of the generator, weak springs of brushes, the faulty regulator of tension, the faulty diode, break of a winding of the stator or defective contact rings of a rotor can be a cause of defect. |
