4.1.3. Removal, installation and check of the thermostat
REMOVAL
The thermostat is in a final branch pipe of cooling liquid in front on the block of cylinders.
PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Merge cooling liquid. |
2. Turn off 2 bolts of fastening –1– and remove a connecting branch pipe –2– from the pump of cooling liquid. Collect the following liquid. A branch pipe with the attached hose take aside. |

3. Remove the thermostat-4-and a sealing ring –3–. For this purpose turn the thermostat on 90 ° (1/4 turns) to the left and take out. |
CHECK
|
4. Measure the size (a) at the thermostat. |
|
5. Heat the thermostat in water. At the same time the thermostat should not concern vessel walls. |
6. Check the thermometer temperature of the beginning and the end of opening for compliance to requirements of Specifications |

7. After heating of the thermostat to temperature + the size (b) in comparison with the size (a) has to be 7 mm more than 100 °C. The course from the beginning before the end of opening of the thermostat has to be not less than 7 mm. |
INSTALLATION

8. After heating of the thermostat to temperature + the size (b) in comparison with the size (a) has to be 7 mm more than 100 °C. The course from the beginning before the end of opening of the thermostat has to be not less than 7 mm. |
9. Install into place the thermostat. |
ATTENTION
At the engine of 1.8 l insert the thermostat and turn on 90 ° (1/4 turns) to the right. Provision of installation: The collar of fastening of the thermostat has to settle down vertically.

10. Grease a new sealing ring with cooling liquid and insert. |
11. Fix a connecting branch pipe by the moment of 15 N of m. |
12. Fill system with cooling liquid. |
13. On the engine of 1.8 l (AGU) with the conditioner: Fix the conditioner compressor with effort of 45 N of m and establish a ridge belt. |
14. Check the cooling system for tightness. |
