Steering drafts and tips of drafts

ATTENTION

As collars of a protective cover apply only original. Open collars with application of nippers for cutting.

1 tip of steering draft. There are left and right executions.

6 – steering draft. Fix on a gear lath by the moment 75 N • m.

At the same time hold a wrench a gear lath for lysk from a provorachivaniye.
7 – a collar with rubber an insert
8 – power steering mechanism. For removal it is previously necessary to lower a unit beam (work HUNDRED).

Adjustment of a convergence is made by rotation of steering drafts surely on both parties of the car. Tips of steering drafts should not have side plays. Dustproof caps should not have damages, otherwise they have to be urgently replaced. Tips of steering drafts have various bend on the right and at the left. Pay attention to it when using spare parts.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Mark paint the provision of the corresponding forward wheel concerning a nave. It will allow to establish at assembly the balanced wheel in its former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel at the car standing on the earth. Lift a forward part of the car, put it on supports and remove a forward wheel.
	2. Turn off a nut of fastening of a tip of steering draft and curtail it until the end of a carving. It serves as a support for a stripper. –1– – ABS speed sensor plug.
3. Wring out a pin of a tip of steering draft from the pendular lever a usual stripper (A), for example, of Hazet 779.
4. Turn off a lock-nut –2 tips of steering draft, address an illustration *Steering drafts and tips of drafts*.
5. Turn off a tip of steering draft, having counted at the same time the speed which are necessary for the subsequent assembly.
6. Cut collars on a protective cover. At the same time do not damage a cover.
	7. Remove a protective cover as it is possible further outside and turn off steering draft. HUNDRED are applied for this purpose by the special V.A.G-1332 tool shown on an illustration complete with 1332/5. Also suitable wrench can be applied.
ATTENTION Hold a gear lath from a provorachivaniye a wrench of 21 mm for lysk.

INSTALLATION

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Replace steering draft or a tip.
2. Screw a tip of the steering draft on speed which is written down at removal and fix by hand by a lock-nut.
3. Fix steering draft by the moment of 75 N • m to the steering mechanism, keeping from a provorachivaniye a wrench.
	4. Establish a protective cover into position. It should not be overwound at all, as shown in an illustration and should not have damages.
	5. Record a protective cover new collars. Clamp collars nippers of V.A.G 1275 or other corresponding tool, for example, of HAZET 1847-1.
6. Insert steering draft into the pendular lever on the case of the bearing of a wheel and tighten the new self-stopped nut the moment 45 N • m.
7. Fix a lock-nut of a tip of steering draft by the moment of 50 N • m.
8. Establish into place a forward wheel so that the markings put at removal coincided. Previously grease with a thin layer of bearing lubricant the aligning wheel disk belt on a nave. Do not grease bolts of fastening of a wheel. Replace rusty bolts. Wrap bolts. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts cross-wise the moment of 120 N • m.
9. Check a convergence of wheels.
