10.4. Removal and installation of a brake disk / support

The brake disks having corrosion create effect of vibration which does not disappear at longer braking when braking. In this case it is necessary to replace brake disks.

REMOVAL

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Mark paint the provision of wheels concerning a nave. It will allow to establish at assembly the balanced wheel in its former situation. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel on the car standing on the earth. Lift the car and install it on supports. Remove wheels.
2. A forward brake with FN– 3 support: Turn out 2 bolts of fastening (are specified by shooters) and remove a support from a guide from a brake disk. FN– 3 support, is given in an illustration the Disk brake mechanism of back wheels in the subsection Removal and installation of disk brake mechanisms of back wheels.
3. A forward brake with FN– III support: Remove brake shoes, at the same time address the subsection Replacement of Front Brake Shoes.
4. Brakes of back wheels: Turn out 2 bolts of fastening of a support at a beam of an axis and remove a support from a brake disk, at the same time address an illustration the Disk brake mechanism of back wheels in the subsection Removal and installation of disk brake mechanisms of back wheels.
5. Fix a support on a hook from a wire on a suspension bracket so that the brake hose was not tense.
ATTENTION

Do not disconnect a brake hose, otherwise after installation it is necessary to delete air from the brake system.

6. If the support has to be removed completely:

– At a forward support unscrew the brake pipeline at the coupling.
– At a back support at first unscrew the brake pipeline at a junction with a hose. Then, if it is necessary, turn off a hose at a support. In addition disconnect a cable of the parking brake.
ATTENTION

When opening a brake contour brake fluid follows. Liquid needs to be collected in the capacity intended especially for it. It is also possible to extort liquid previously from the tank.

7. Turn out the screw with crosswise to vents of fastening of brake disks.
8. Remove a brake disk.
ATTENTION

It is impossible to remove a brake disk from a nave with use of force (blows by the hammer). It is necessary to use for this purpose means for dissolution of a rust. If removal of a disk is possible only with application of blows of the hammer, for safety reasons it is necessary to replace brake disks and bearings of wheels. Replacement of bearings has to be made in conditions HUNDRED as only there, as a rule, there can be available the corresponding press. After application of a stripper it is also necessary to replace brake disks.

INSTALLATION

For receiving uniform braking on both sides both brake disks have to have an identical surface concerning a roughness. Therefore it is necessary to replace both brake disks. In conditions HUNDRED it is possible to check a disk for a beating. Maximum beating of a surface of a disk: 0.05 mm; the maximum admissible difference in thickness of disks: 0.01 mm.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measure thickness of a brake disk, at the same time address appropriate section.
2. If is available, remove a rust on a flange of a brake disk and a nave.
3. Clear a new disk a thinner of a protective varnish.
4. Establish new brake disks on a nave and fix by screws with a crosswise head.
5. Brakes of forward wheels with FS– III support: Establish brake shoes, at the same time address the subsection Replacement of Front Brake Shoes.
6. Brakes of forward wheels with FS– 3 support: Establish a support with brake shoes. At the same time you watch that the brake hose was not overwound or tense. Fix a support by the moment of 125 N • m.
ATTENTION

If again old ridge bolts are applied, clear previously edges a brush.

7. Brakes of back wheels: fix by the moment 65 N • m. Connect a cable of the parking brake.
ATTENTION

If the brake hose was removed, establish it and remove air from the brake system, at the same time address the subsection Removal of Air from the brake system.

8. Establish wheels so that the markings put at removal coincided. Previously grease with a thin layer of bearing lubricant the aligning rim corbel on a nave. Wrap bolts of fastening of wheels. Lower the car on wheels and tighten bolts a cross – crosswise the moment of 120 N • m.
ATTENTION

Several times strongly press a brake pedal so that the distinct resistance of a pedal was felt. Thus blocks will lie down to a brake disk and will take the place.

9. Check the level of brake fluid in the tank. If necessary add.
10. Brakes of back wheels: Adjust the parking brake, at the same time address the subsection Adjustment of the Parking Brake.
ATTENTION

carry out reliability inspection:

– Whether fastenings of brake hoses are reliably tightened?
– Whether the brake hose is fixed in the holder?
– Whether unions of removal of air are tightened?
– Whether it is enough in the tank of brake fluid?
– At the working engine check tightness of system. For this purpose press a brake pedal by effort 200 – 300 N (20 – 30 kg) during 10 pages. The pedal should not depart. Check all connections for tightness

11. Carefully let's be earned extra to new brake shoes. For this purpose several times slow down the car from speed 80 to 40 km/h slightly pressing a pedal. Between braking let's be cooled to a brake.
