3.1. Check of a compression in engine cylinders

The compression gives an idea of a condition of the engine. Results of check show whether it is necessary to replace the engine on new or he demands complete repair. For conducting check it is required компрессометр.

The difference in pressure between separate cylinders should not exceed 3.0 bars. If one or several cylinders have pressure different from pressure in other cylinders more, than on 3.0 bars, it indicates existence of leakage of sealing laying of a head of cylinders, damage of valves, wear of piston rings or the working surface of cylinders. If the limit of wear is reached, the engine needs to be repaired or replaced.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. For check of a compression temperature of motive oil has to be not less than +30 °C. At the same time the oil filter has palm temperature. If temperature provided below, the engine needs to be warmed up. Temperature of the engine should not be too high, otherwise at a reversing of spark plugs the carving in a head of cylinders can be damaged.
2. Switch off ignition.
3. Remove all spark plugs.
4. Take out a safety lock of the fuel pump.
5. Engines of 1.6 l: Rasstykuyte the socket of injectors at both external cylinders.
6. Engines 1.6: I will corrode Rasstykuyte an output step of ignition. The output step is included between the monitor and coils of ignition.
7. Turn the engine a starter to throw out a deposit and soot.
ATTENTION

Establish RKPP in neutral situation and tighten the parking brake.
At a provorachivaniye of the engine do not incline over it. There is a danger of traumatizing as a result of emission of a soot.
8. Screw or press компрессометр in one of openings under a spark plug.
9. Ask the assistant to press the accelerator pedal and to hold it in such situation during all check.
10. Turn the engine approximately on 8 turns so that the measuring device did not show more pressure jumps.
11. Check one after another all cylinders and compare the received values to the required value.
12. Upon termination of work establish to the place of a spark plug.
13. Join the socket of an output step (engines of 1.6 l) again.
14. Engines of 1.6 l: Join shtekerny connections at external injectors.
ATTENTION

Owing to undocking of shtekerny connections in the monitor the engine malfunctions can register. It is recommended, as soon as possible to remove them on HUNDRED AUDIS.
