3.7. Capital repairs

For carrying out measurements of cylinders it is necessary to use the special arrow measuring instrument by means of which it is possible to perform measurements in the top, middle and lower part of the cylinder. If the arrow measuring instrument is unavailable, this operation cannot be executed.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Measurement of the cylinder should be performed in the directions A and V. Besides, it is necessary to perform measurements at distance 10 mm from the upper edge, 10 mm from bottom edge and in a middle part, i.e. at the levels of 1, 2 and 3. In total, it is necessary to make six measurements on each cylinder. All measured sizes need to be written down and compared with provided in Specifications.
2. It must be kept in mind that it is necessary to chisel all cylinders even if the sizes of one of cylinders are not normal. A tolerance on 0.8 mm from nominal size. The repair sizes of pistons are specified in Specifications.
3. The final size of the cylinder is defined after measurement of diameter of the piston which is taken in 10 mm from bottom edge of a skirt of the piston and in the right corner of an opening of a piston finger.
4. Then it is necessary to add the size of a gap of the piston of 0.03 mm to this size. Besides, it is necessary to add 0.02 mm on a cylinder honingovaniye.
5. For check of a gap of the piston it is necessary to measure the piston and the cylinder in the cylinder in the way described above and to calculate a difference between these sizes. If the result exceeds 0.08 mm, it is necessary to chisel cylinders as the gap reached the extreme size of wear.
