8.2. Removal and installation of automatic transmission


ATTENTION

The description of operations and instructions relating at the same time to RKPP and AT are provided in the subsection Removal and the RKPP installation for turbodiesel engines (TDI).


In the real subsection only the differences concerning AT are described.

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Suspend the engine for a head of cylinders, using for this purpose the crane.
2. Rasstykuyte shtekerny connection at AT, disconnect a cable guide.
1 sensor of the electromagnetic valve (10-contact)
2 sensor of speed of the movement
3 switch multipurpose
4 sensor of speed of the transmission
3. Wring out the screw-driver draft of the switch of transfers (1) at the lever (4). Remove a lock bracket (3) at a support. Remove draft of the switch of transfers at a box and take aside.

ATTENTION

The bolt (2) should not be turned off.


4. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove the holder of the giving pipeline of the pump of the hydraulic booster.
5. Press ATF cooler hoses, for example, the VW-3094 or HAZET-4590 tool. Weaken collars and remove hoses.

ATTENTION

Collect the flowed-out oil by a rag.


6. Turn off bolts of fastening and remove a guard (arrows on an illustration).
7. Take out a stopper from a torque converter cover opening. Turn off 3 nuts and disconnect (an arrow on an accompanying illustration) the converter from the conducted clutch plate. Turn the engine a head for a pulley of a bent shaft to the right that nuts were in an opening.

ATTENTION

The converter of torque is between the engine and the check point and is the liquid coupling.


8. Remove AT by analogy with RKPP (Removal and the RKPP installation).
ATTENTION

At removal of AT from the engine wring out the converter from the conducted disk. Protect the converter in AT from loss for what install at a box casing the device for a clip and clamp. If not to put such device, at removal of a box you watch that the converter did not slip out a box.


INSTALLATION
9. Before the AT installation measure distance between a flange of a box and a persistent surface below at a carving finger. It has to make about 22 mm. If the specified distance is equal to 10 mm, the converter is inserted incorrectly. In this case carefully turn the converter so that it slid off down.

ATTENTION

At the wrong installation of the converter the conducted disk at installation of a box collapses.


10. Further installation is carried out in the sequence, the return to removal. In addition take the following into account.
11. Apply only original nuts to fastening of the converter. The converter fastens to the conducted disk the moment of 60 N of m.
12. Replace bolts of fastening of support of a box. Fix bolts by the moments presented on an illustration.
13. Adjust draft of gear shifting.
14. Check the ATF level in the main transfer and in a box.
